Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
On the Chief Minister’s orders, Minister of State for North Bengal Development, Waterways, and Irrigation, Sabina Yasmin, conducted a door-to-door voter ID verification drive in Mothabari. She visited areas including Rathbari Gram Panchayat, Uttar Mohanpur, Baluachara, Kagmari, and Geetamore, checking voter IDs and interacting with residents to identify irregularities.
Yasmin stated that party workers would be deployed at every booth for continuous voter list monitoring. “Every booth in my constituency will have party workers verifying voter lists to ensure a clean electoral process,” she said. Officials noted that any discrepancies found during the drive would be reported for further action.
The initiative aims to prevent electoral malpractices and maintain accurate voter records. Residents were asked to present valid identification, and any anomalies detected were recorded. Similar verification drives may be conducted in other parts of the constituency if required.
